Student Terms & Conditions

In joining The Lyceum as a student, we ask that you acknowledge the following:

  • You agree to be recorded during sessions for quality and safety purposes.

  • You confirm that you are 13 years of age or older.

  • You agree that you will immediately report any inappropriate behavior that occurs on The Lyceum’s forums or sessions via email.

  • You agree to use The Lyceum’s platform professionally and only for academic purposes. Any inappropriate material will be grounds for immediate and permanent removal, and you may be banned from using our service.

  • You agree that the community and its affiliates (tutors, participants, and partners) shall not be held liable for any damages arising out of the site, its associated content, and its tutoring sessions.

  • You acknowledge that you have read our Privacy Policy and agree to the data collection as mentioned in it.

Staff Terms & Conditions

In joining The Lyceum as a tutor, we ask that you acknowledge the following: 

  • The terms and conditions for students are a subset for those of staff members. Therefore, this is an extension and you must agree to the student’s terms in addition to these.

  • You agree to use The Lyceum’s community Discord server professionally.

  • You agree to be respectful, inclusive and encouraging to all students in your tutoring sessions, if you are volunteering as a tutor.

  • You agree to be an accountable staff member. If you're a tutor, you agree to host every tutoring session that you create. If you are unable to host a session, you assure that will inform Lyceum immediately. We do not want students to be left hanging.

  • You agree that all of your session content will be appropriate for kids as young as 13. Therefore, no profanity, nudity, or violence is acceptable.

  • You agree that you will only create sessions and content that strictly focus on an academic topic.

  • You agree that The Lyceum may collect feedback from students regarding your sessions. The feedback may be used to evaluate tutors, improve our programs, and be showcased on our website and social media pages.

  • You agree to be respectful, inclusive and encouraging to all members and learners associated with The Lyceum.

  • You agree that if you are found using unfair means in the staff/tutor selection process, we may immediately terminate your request to become a staff member/tutor and suspend you from our platform.

  • You agree that you will immediately report any invalid content (wrong answers, misguiding comments, etc.) found on our platform to us via email, Discord, or forums.

  • You agree that any of your content that you submit to us (such as answers, recorded meetings, social media posts created by you.) are Lyceum’s property and we may share it on our website, YouTube, Social Media, etc. for educational and advertising purposes only.

  • You acknowledge that you are working for free at The Lyceum as a volunteer and will not be paid.

  • You understand that you will receive a certificate only if you volunteer for at least a month.

  • You understand that, you shall receive a LinkedIn recommendation only if you volunteer for at least 3 months.

We may terminate or suspend your access to our platform immediately, without prior notice or liability, for any reason whatsoever, including without limitation if you breach these Terms & Conditions.
