Volunteer as a Tutor!

More subjects are to be added along the line so if you want to tutor something we don't offer, by all means, come in and we will add it!

Thank you for visiting this page and taking the initiative to volunteer. We know that even thinking of helping strangers takes courage, and you should be proud of yourself that you are one of the few that are willing to try.
I would like to clarify something, do not be daunted by the fact that you don’t have a drawing table or other fancy equipment, it is the motive to teach rather than the facilities that are of utmost importance. You don’t need privileges to be able to help someone; a pen, paper, and a mobile phone camera are really enough to host your session. We value you for coming out and helping, your initiative and tutoring skills are the only assets that matter, not the facilities.

Responsibilities

  • Host tutoring sessions (on request or by your wish)

  • Answer questions on forums

  • Help students and be nice to everyone in the community

Requirements

  • Fluency in English language. 

  • Knowledge of the subject you choose to teach.

  • Good internet connectivity 

  • Must have finished 10th grade or equivalent.

  • (recommended but not obligatory) should've studied the chosen subject in CIE IGCSE.

 

Time commitment

  • At least 2-3 hours per week

Returns

  • IGCSE's consist of major fundamentals that will help you throughout your life. Tutoring will help you solidify your knowledge about these fundamentals, so while tutoring, you are also helping yourself.

  • Company really matters, you will connect with an ambitious community of tutors and students from around the world keen on doing something great one day.

  • Build public speaking, leadership skills and teaching skills. The first two specially are very important today if you want to have an impact. Virtual tutoring allows us a safe and less stressful environment where we can hone these skills.

  • Certificate with tracked volunteer hours to show to colleges and employers, and showcase on your portfolio.

  • Linkedin recommendation if you work with us for 3 months.

 

How we select

  • Once you fill in the form attached to the Apply button below, the process begins.

  • We will conduct an informal, 30 minutes meeting with you for introductions and you will solve a few past paper questions in front of us. You will explain the answers just like you would to students. This interview is required to test your communication skills and subject knowledge.*

  • Hooray! You will be informed of your success in a day and will be invited to be part of an amazing community of like-minded tutors. We hope you will find great friends and idols here.

    *We know that everyone has some magnitude of stage fear, which is why we will try to be informal and not stress you. Most of the tutors here are tutoring for the first time, and we do not expect you to be great at it, it's okay to stutter and be tensed, we just need to make sure that you do not provide misguiding facts to learners. Everyone starts small, we get better through iterations.
